If you’re looking to raise your media profile, get your business in the press or need coaching on press interviews, I offer a number of tailored media training sessions for businesses, entrepreneurs or PRs.
My media experience is unique because it covers all platforms. I’ve been behind the camera as a producer for ITN, in front of the camera as a regular spokesperson and newspaper reviewer and I’ve pitched and written stories for almost all national newspapers. So I’m well placed to advise on preparing for interviews, navigating awkward interviews and to give journalistic input on media campaigns.
For group media training sessions I work in partnership with Nine Media. We are a team of four working journalists with collective experience in newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, online journalism, B2B publications, PR and books to make sure we can deliver exactly the media advise and guidance you need.
Below are some examples of popular media training services I offer, either individually or through Nine Media. Every session is individually tailored to what you or your business need so please contact me with your specific needs and to get a quote.
In-house Media Training for businesses (With Nine Media Training)
Two members of Nine Media will deliver half or full day media training for up to 8 people. We tailor the content depending on whether your target press is newspapers, broadcast, magazines or industry press. There’s easy to learn interview technique with plenty of practical, filmed role-play interview practice and crisis interview management if needed. We can also work with in-house press or comms teams to give journalistic input on upcoming media campaigns and guidance on spotting media opportunities.
We’ve trained academics, CEOs, best-selling authors and PR campaign managers with all levels of media experience. Previous clients include London Southbank University, University of Wolverhampton, Birmingham University, Havas Media, London Care, Crunch Accounting, Pimco, Killick & Co and more.
Ultimate Media Training Days for PRs (With Nine Media Training)
We regularly run our hugely popular Ultimate Media Training Day for PRs in central London but we can also bring it in-house to your offices anywhere in the country. The training day reveals how the media works, how to tailor your pitches to journalists and how to target the right press for your clients. The day leaves PRs bursting with motivation and full of new ideas that they can immediately put into practice.
Our next session, which will focus on the broadcast media, will be on January 19th 2017. Register your interest here
(Details of sessions focussing on the print media to be posted soon.)
One-on-one media coaching and consulting
Ideal if you’re on a budget and just need a few hours of one-on-one media brainstorming with a journalist to get you your media plans off the ground. I’ve worked with entrepreneurs, new businesses, authors and other artists. A session might involve coming up with viable story ideas to get you or your product into the press, interview coaching, writing press releases, finding suitable media platforms to pitch your story idea to and establishing yourself as a well-used spokesperson in your niche.
